Bee’s Bread Wrap

Bees WrapA natural and earth friendly way to keep bread fresh without using plastic.

Made of organic muslin, beeswax, jojoba oil, and tree resin. The antibacterial properties of the beeswax and jojoba oil keep food fresh and allow you to use the Bee’s Wrap again and again.

Use the warmth of your hands to mold the Bee’s Wrap to create a seal around bread or the top of a large bowl as your dough proofs. When the wrap cools it stiffens and holds its shape.

Wash your wrap in cool water with mild dish soap and allow to air dry. Because Bee’s Wraps cannot be cleaned with hot water or sterilized, it is recommended they are not used with meat.

Bee’s Wrap was invented by Sarah Kaeck, a stay at home mom of three who grows and produces much of what her family eats on their Vermont farm. In searching for an alternative to plastic wrap, Sarah invented Bee’s Wrap which has grown into a viable small business, allowing Sarah to hire local women to help.

Read on another blog how to store bread to keep longer and this wrap was recommended. I can’t believe all this time I’ve kept my bread in the fridge. Wrapped in this bees wrap outside the fridge it not only lasts longer, but is also soft. In the fridge it was always difficult to cut into it, this new method bread is soft and super easy to slice.

I have purchased Bee’s wrap from a fundraiser, in multiple sizes. I came back to get this bread wrap. it works great, keeps the bread fresher longer and I love the smell. I recommend this highly.

I did not buy this from Breadtopia – I had already purchased it elsewhere after hearing about it on The Splendid Table. I have been very pleased with this as a bread wrap – keeps bread fresh/retards staling, works as good or better than anything else I’ve tried. I also use them to wrap cheese, bring sandwiches and things like carrots to work, etc. (non wet stuff). One note: I have not had as much success with Bee Wrap products for a real good tight seal for things for storage in the fridge – the seal doesn’t seem to stay put for me. Abeego beeswax sheets have worked better for that specific application. Both are great for getting away from plastic for non wet items. Care is easy – wash with soap in cool water when needed and air dry. I haven’t needed to replace any yet.
