  • Continuous Min/Max display tells you how hot (or cold) your food got when you weren’t looking.
  • A “High Alarm” sounds when your food reaches your setting, and a first-of-its-kind “Low Alarm” is perfect for making yogurt and other cold dishes.

  • The main temperature digits are big and easy-to-see from a distance.
  • Touch the backlight button to read the display in the dark.
  • ChefAlarm reads within ±2°F so you should never need a calibration adjustment but the CAL feature can be used for fine-tuning your accuracy to better than ±1°F.
  • Fold ChefAlarm flat and use the magnetic back on a metal surface or tilt the display up and use it on a counter.
  • Only ThermoWorks offers the new Pro-Series Temperature Probes. Built for robust commercial use, they are more accurate, faster and more moisture-resistant than any other alarm probes.
  • ChefAlarm comes with one Pro-Series High Temp Cooking Probe that measures to 572°F with a cable that withstands 700°F short term exposure. Coupled with a molded transition to the SS tube, this probe survives commercial cooking use longer than consumer probes.

ChefAlarm Oven Thermometer

Outstanding, very accurate device for home bakers where oven temperatures tend to wander in a rather large (and sometimes unacceptable for one’s bread!) range from the set temperature. And they last for years!

This thermometer is worth every extra penny it costs over the department store cheapies. One significant difference is that the probe is not affected by the magnetic field of an induction cooktop. Other cheap remote probe thermometers I have used blanked out on the induction cooktop. I like induction for cooking boil-down jams, jelly, preserves without pectin and with this model you can get a constant, reliable readout. There is also a 12 inch probe available which is very useful when making cheese and yogurt in a large kettle.

I completely agree with all of Richards comments. I to have been using my ChefAlarm for several years. I would add the timing unit after it reaches the set time continued to the time with a – sign. SO, if you miss the alarm you can tell how much longer the timing has continued. You normally can hear the loud alarm since it is very loud. I also use it everywhere, I purchased a straight probe that I find easier to use in some instances. The customer support is exceptional; the products are exceptional. So much so that I purchased units for my son and daughter.

Actually, I thought I had already reviewed this excellent product, must have slipped my mind (apologies Eric!).

I bought this thermometer 2 years ago. I use it all the time and it has worked flawlessly. I was tired of replacing my cheaper ($20.00 and under) ones every couple of years and decided to spend more for a quality one. Thanks to Breadtopia’s genuine concern to offer good products to their customers, I decided to take the chance with this offering and I haven’t regretted that decision for a second.

First off, I really appreciated the heat range tolerance this unit offers, up to 572 degrees F (most cheap ones don’t come close to this). This gives you a clue to the higher quality of this product. As usual, the product description Breadtopia gives you on all the specs is very informative for you to compare other products to and very much appreciated. The display and intuitive buttons are excellent, and the backlight feature does come in handy for dimly lit kitchens. I often like proofing my bread in the oven. The long cable on the remote sensor (approx. 45″ long) works well at monitoring oven temps while I proof the bread, then equally monitoring the oven temps while in baking cycle. I also really like using the timer function, especially with the adjustable volume. I easily can make this alarm the loudest of all the different alarms I have in the kitchen. Overall the weight and feel of the unit gives a perception of a professional device. There are magnets built into both halves of the unit, so you can position it on metal surfaces and have it sit there secure. Besides bread baking, I also use this with my outdoor grill, both for cooking and smoking meats. Overall, even at the $59.00 price, this unit is a tremendous value for the money and an excellent choice if you finally want to upgrade to a MUCH better remote thermometer!
