Danish Dough Whisk — Small

I have grown very fond of this smaller sized wisk. It really does make stirring my starter easier than using a fork or spoon. The design has one loop which get the flour stirred up that is stuck along the bottom edge of my Breadtopia starter jar. Very nice tool!

Extremely sturdy & well made. I appreciate reading other reviews in the various batters & doughs this tool is helpful for.

This is the perfect size for mixing my starter down in its jar. I also have a larger one which works better for loaves: this is a good size however for muffins, pancake batter, etc. As others have said, it’s not strictly necessary but it does a better job than just a fork or spoons

Who needs yet another kitchen gadget? I do!!
I didn’t think I’d like this thing so much. It’s absolutely fantastic. Using it (including our friend, Mr. Cleanup, who doesn’t get mentioned much by all those Youtube reviewers, you know who I’m talking about) is so quick and it works so well that I find it replaces my electric hand mixer most of the time (bigger jobs, the Bosch gets to do anyway).
Regarding the description, “small” is a euphemism (I don’t have the “large” to compare though), it’s just small enough to get into a wide-mouth canning jar. Don’t expect a little toy size whisk. I’d say this one is size “L” and the other must be “XXL”.

Works like a champ. Combines ingredients quickly so don’t have to mix very long. Can begin kneading much quicker than with a fork. Added bonus, my Pyrex bowls were getting chewed up by forks- this will not do that!

  6. Pizzabakker (verified owner)

Received mine yesterday. It’s an amazing addition to my kitchen. The pizza dough ingredients were mixed really fast into a dough ball. Like in half a minute. (Next time even faster I think.) After that I used my kneading gloves to finish.
Got the large and small size.

I simply Love having the perfect tool for whatever I’m doing. This whisk makes the mixing so fun and easy. It fits my hand perfectly. The wire does the job perfectly and scrapes the side of the bowl perfectly. It keeps me from having to drag out the big mixer and find the bread hooks. This whisk is so much easier and easy to use, does a great job you don’t need a huge mixer to this. It works 5 times faster than a spoon. Worth every penny. It will be an heirloom that my grandchildren can remember grandmas bread whisk. It will last forever.

Do I need it, no. Do I love having one, yes. I am unsure if I would buy it again but won’t give it up either. Seriously, you can just use a spoon or your hands. This little one is nice for mixing your starter though.

This kitchen tool is so much sturdier than the photo shown. I am so pleased with the quality and will be using it frequently. Everything in my order was packaged carefully and arrived in pristine condition. Thanks for such great service and fast shipping.

I am a petite woman (5’3″) and like this size a lot. It’s sturdy; it’s not flimsy. Very easy to use. Not too heavy. No funny smell. No off-coloring tarnish of the metal that makes me question it’s quality. Arrives shipped in friendly paper (not plastic). Made in Poland. Outer whisk loop scrapes the bowl while the inner loops are mixing the dough.

Works great and clean-up is super easy! Highly recommend this lovely dough wisk! I also got the big one as well! 🙂

This tool does more than bread dough. It breaks up ground meat when browning for chili or spaghetti sauce. Try it for 10 eggs when preparing breakfast for a large family. I used it for mixing meatloaf ingredients together. When a cake mix or brownie mix says stir for 50 strokes, out comes the Danish Dough Whisk. I’m sure there are many more uses I will discover when canning season rolls around. I ordered 8 so I could give my girls and friends one as their birthdays come around. It’s not a gadget, it’s a cooking necessity.

I actually bought mine (and paid more) through another well known online flour company but I love this website more…when I saw that I could offer a review for these whisks, I couldn’t pass the chance up to tell everyone out there that these are the BEST gadgets out there for stirring heavy or large amounts of dough! I make challah for my Jewish Temple for Shabbat so it’s not uncommon for me to mix 20 pounds of dough at a time. With weak wrists, it was becoming a challenge for me to use a dinner fork so I took a chance and purchased the large whisk. When I saw how great it worked, I went back and bought the smaller one in case I should ever need to make a smaller batch of bread!

Both sizes are swell! Lots of people have commented on how wonderfully this mixes up dough, so I’ll just agree with them and not try to add more to it… except that one needn’t feel limited to mixing dough with it…. And, it looks cool hanging from the pot rack!

I will add that I found it to be of a nicer quality than I expected. I purchased both sizes and both are lovely. The handles are sturdy, smooth, nicely sanded beechwood, which is a good choice due to its sturdiness and tight grain. Due to the low-ish price, I expected something a bit shabbier.

The handles arrive completely bare, with no varnish / finish at all. I advise oiling them, especially where the wire whisk part goes into the handle. I used super pure linseed oil (essentially flax seed oil) but mineral oil, walnut oil, or whatever you oil your cutting boards with would probably fine.

If you intend to keep making bread, buy one. I prefer the larger one for 1 loaf or larger batches, but the smaller will certainly work for a full loaf and might be preferable for people with smaller hands. Either way, I bet you’ll be happy.

  15. eric williams

Does the job. I use this exclusively to stir my dough together, I never do batches larger then 3 cups flour to start and it goes just fine. I am only commenting on its size relative to the other available here – comments on how well it works are unnecessary. No brainer. It is a must have. For $7 (or $8, if you are feeling wild) you will likely never need another tool ever for the job.

  16. Lydia

I’d never seen such a thing but it gets the job done quick and easy.

  17. Susan

I love this thing! Thank you for having it available.
