This model features a very thin probe leaving no noticeable hole in your bread.
The main distinguishing feature of this model vs. many others is the ability to calibrate it. We don’t think calibration is important for bread baking since all of these models will be accurate enough anyway, but if you’re also using it for cheese and/or candy making, you might want to be able to calibrate it to insure utmost accuracy.
Where most “instant” read thermometers take 20-30 seconds to reach a true temperature reading, this one takes about 6-8 seconds.
