Bringing Generations of New England Yankee Craftsmanship to the Gourmet Housewares Industry for Over 65 Years
Some of the world’s finest woodworkers can be found in New England. The craft and folklore of the great Yankee Woodworker have been handed down through the generations and are as well known today as they were hundreds of years ago. The early Vermonters employed by J.K. Adams are certainly attributable to their current success and quality craftsmanship. Today, J.K. Adams employs the future generations of woodworkers. Their skills and knowledge, like the craftsmen who came before them, will be passed down to the next generation.
Located in a rural area of Vermont, J.K. Adams remains one of the largest employers in the area and is an important pillar of support for their local community. Since 1944, the J.K. Adams Company has endured through fires, severe storms and hard economic times, and all the while provided for as many as three generations of families. They take great pride in presenting products that are not only made proudly in the USA, but keep their dedicated workforce continually employed.
J.K. Adams has always used the creativity and skill of their workforce to develop new products. Today, they lead their category in design. Others try to emulate them, but none is as dedicated to creating products that endure over time.
In Colonial times, British military foresters commandeered the tallest, straightest trees throughout New England to be used as ship masts for the Royal Navy. A simple broad arrow figure was chopped into the bark of the magnificent trees, thereby marking them as property of the Crown – no compensation, no discussion. Along with the tax on tea, this activity helped inspire the American Revolution. The J.K. Adams factory adopted the broad arrow to symbolize the highest quality wood products. While they don’t encourage armed revolution, they continue to stir the revolutionary pot in their industry, setting the standards for environmental excellence, functional design, impeccable workmanship and reliable service.
Their Guarantee:
