Lined Bread Proofing Basket – Oblong Wicker
Also known as a banneton or brotform, a proofing baskets is used for rising dough in the proper shape prior to baking.
These light weight lined baskets are a more affordable option than the coiled rattan proofing baskets and yet should provide many years of reliable service. The included cotton liner is removable for easy cleaning.
Dust the basket liner with flour and the risen dough drops easily onto your baking surface. For proofing very wet doughs, as called for with the popular no knead bread recipes, working rice flour into the cloth liner is particularly effective.
Cleaning: wash the liner in cold water, gentle cycle and hang dry.
Dimensions: Large. Measures 13.75″ inside length across the top, 6″ inside width across the bottom and is 3.25″ deep. It will accommodate a 1 ½ – 2 ½ lb. loaf.
