MADE IN USA by Lamson Sharp – American Made Cutlery and Kitchen Tools Since 1837

We’re constantly on the look out for the best products at the best prices. It’s one of our many obsessions. We’ve tried many bread knives in our own kitchen, and the 10″ Lamson Sharp Walnut Offset Bread Knife aces the test.

This offset bread knife hits the sweet spot for form, function, quality and price. The blade on this model is both extremely sharp and thin. Sharp enough to easily cut through the crustiest bread with ease and thin enough to slice the most delicate breads without tearing the dough. We also use ours to cut thin slices of tomatoes. The cutting edge of the blade is also slightly curved so you can more easily cut all the way through your bread.

The best steel in the world still eventually needs sharpening. This Lamson Sharp bread knife can be sharpened with a hand or electric sharpener designed to handle serrated blades or mailed to the company for professional sharpening (contact us for details).

This knife passed our “reach for” test with flying colors. It’s the knife we found ourselves most often reaching for among the many available to us. So much so that we have dropped from our line a few other knives that we had carried for some time.

The exceptionally sharp serrated edge of this knife will slice smoothly through the crustiest artisan loaves, without crushing or tearing. The offset handle elevates your hand, preventing knuckles from hitting the cutting surface.

  • All Lamson Sharp knives are recognized for superior quality, strength, balance, craftsmanship and precision cutting.
  • The blade is made from a high carbon stainless steel.
  • The walnut handle provides a comfortable non-slip grip.
  • Blade length: 10″
  • Overall length: 15 1/4″

Breadtopia’s Choice — Offset Bread Knife

  1. Nira Morning

I love this knife. Easily slices through my hard sourdough crusts without making a mess or tearing the loaf apart. And it’s easier on my hand and wrist.

It was very very dull. I doubt it was sharpened before it was shipped. That is a real problem for a serrated blade, hard to sharpen at home. We got a different blade from a different vendor and it worked really great, hence my thought the breadtopia blade was never sharpened in the first place.

I’m very pleased with the quality and performance of this knife! Happy to acquire a quality American made product! I purchased one to add to my collection and two others as gifts.

I have been putting off buying a good knife because of the high prices. Being that I trust Breadtopia’s recommendations I purchased this modestly-priced knife.

I have given bread to friends and family who all have expensive bread knives. I have used them and am able to compare them. This one is as good as any of the expensive ones. It cuts easier than all of them; the construction is very good. I am very happy.

Have owned this for several years and rarely used as I was not baking bread. However I have gotten into baking artisan sourdough bread and this knife is amazing. It is now my favorite knife for slicing my sourdough. Cuts through the crunchy crust and tender inside perfectly with no tearing or effort. If you bake artisan bread this is the knife to own.

Not impressed. Is definitely not well suited for large crusty sourdough slices. Blade is too flexible to cut with even thickness. Will reserve use for small narrow loaves.

Really great knife. I hope it maintains its sharp edge. Also great price and great shipping from breadtopia – to Canada, no less! I know where I’m going for my bread supplies from now on.

A Great Kitchen Tool and A Pleasure to Use – The LamsonSharp offset bread knife is a bit pricey but worth it! The serrade is the best I have ever used for a bread knife. The length between serrade peaks and the depth of each grove make for smooth motion and a fine “bread dust” that does not explosively leave the cut line, unlike knives with a larger serrade. The offset handle gives greater energy transfer to the blade (force-via-position) and keeps my hand off the cutting board. Asthetically the knife is very attractive: the subtle curve of the forged blade and tang and the rosewood grips accenting the handle. Great for cutting fruits and vegis too.
