Product Description

KoMo Fidibus 21 Grain Mill by Wolfgang Mock (the not so little brother of the KoMo Classic)

The Wolfgang grain mill is a world class mill designed by master craftsman, Wolfgang Mock. The Wolfgang mills are precision engineered and imported from Germany, assuring the highest quality materials and craftsmenship.

Small but powerful: At a mere 12-1/2″ tall, the Fidibus 21 performs comparably to larger mills. Inside its attractive housing of furniture grade beech plywood resides a 250 watt motor capable of grinding 3.5 oz of flour per minute at the finest setting. The Fidibus 21, as with all KoMo mills can run continuously so you can refill and keep grinding for whatever quantity of flour you need. The high quality electric motor drives the more than rock hard corundum/ceramic millstones. All Wolfgang mills will provide many many years of reliable service. The generous 12 year warranty stands behind each one. The Fidibus 21 is well suited to most small family miling needs and a valuable tool for anyone exploring the joys of cooking with natural foods.

Baking with your own freshly milled flour couldn’t be easier. Adjust the degree of fineness of flour (from very fine to very course) by simply rotating the hopper clockwise or counter clockwise, add nearly 2 lbs of grain to the hopper and you’re ready to go. Cleanup is minimal to nonexistent.

All dry grains can be ground, including wheat (both hard and soft), oat groats (dehulled oats), rice, triticale, kamut, spelt, buckwheat, barley, rye, millet, teff, quinoa, amaranth, sorghum and dent (field) corn. Sprouted grains can also be milled provided they are thoroughly dried first. It will also grind spices, lentils and dry beans (pinto, red, garbanzo, kidney, etc.) It isn’t suitable for herbs, oilseeds like flax or sesame, popcorn, or fibrous materials.

Award winning performer: KoMo’s Fidibus 21 mill received the highest rating in its category from the German natural products magazine Oeko Test.

Wolfgang freshly milled grains are far more nourishing and flavorful than flours which are weeks or even days old. Freshly milled flour from the Wolfgang exits the shoot at a temperature only sightly warm to the touch.

Whole grains begin to oxidize and spoil as soon as they’re milled, causing a loss in nutritional value and flavor. At a minimum, it’s important to check the shelf date on store bought whole grains and refrigerate or freeze what you keep on hand.

Ideally, purchase whole grains in bulk and mill at home as needed. Whole grains keep indefinitely and hold their nutritional value. Milling your own grains with a Wolfgang grain mill takes less than a minute and cleanup about the same.

    (verified owner):

I had been wanting to replace my old mill which is a high speed micronizer that is noisy, creates a lot of heat in the flour (125+dF), is dusty, and hard to clean ; the only good thing about it is that I got it from my father so it was free. I’m sure glad that I got the KoMo because it is none of the things so disliked about the old mill.
Especially nice is the fact that if using more than one type of grain you can weigh them before milling and that is what will come out as flour. I’m looking forward to many years of use of the KoMo.

We got our mill for Christmas over 12 years ago and have loved it ever since. In fact, we have asked ourselves why hadn’t gotten it earlier so we would have enjoyed the healthy delicious taste even longer. But those mills have a price and we’re glad we were able to get it as a Christmas gift to ourselves.
The mill is quite small, being just over a foot tall, and is made out of attractive beechwood. It sure is an eye catcher always a conversational topic. I like the fact that I can leave out all the time since we use it several times a week.
It is a good mill that has served our family of 4 for many years and we are looking forward to many more.

Smooth, quiet, and fast – all in a beautifully arranged unit. I had no idea what a difference freshly milled grains would make. The flavor and texture of my breads, muffins, cookies and cakes is wonderful. My husband loves the fact that I love this new tool because he benefits and tries to help out ! I have had this two weeks and so far have milled spelt, rye, and hard red wheat berries. I’ve been baking and sharing so I can mill and bake more. Highly recommended to anyone interested in good, nutritional fresh flour.

I love this Grain Mill. I chose the smaller one only cause there are 2 of us in the house and didn’t think the other model would make a difference. I’m not sure, but this has really been a great grain mill. It’s a beautiful piece of work and is of high quality. One of the main reasons I wanted the Wolfgang is because it is a smaller unit versus other brands that are huge and I don’t have a lot of kitchen space on either the counter of in the cupboards. I also had the privilege of demonstrated it at a provident living fair and the people there just loved it. They commented on how quiet and clean it was compared to others they have used and didn’t like having to take theirs outside to use.
