Baking with your own freshly milled flour couldn’t be easier. Adjust the degree of fineness of flour (from very fine to very coarse) by simply rotating the hopper clockwise or counter clockwise, add up to about 2 lbs of grain to the hopper and you’re ready to go. Cleanup is minimal to nonexistent. No need to store your KoMo mill out of sight between use; its attractiveness and small footprint only enhances your kitchen decor.

The Classic’s housing of sustainably grown native beechwood with finger jointed corners reflects the integrity of the mills internal workings. Within the elegant housing resides an incredibly durable and advanced milling mechanism. The industrial strength electric motor drives the more than rock hard corundum/ceramic millstones. All Wolfgang mills will provide many many years of reliable service. The generous 12 year warranty stands behind each one. The KoMo Classic is the most popular of the Komo mills.

Power & Output: The Classic’s 360 watt motor produces 3.5 ounces of flour per minute at the finest setting.

All dry grains can be ground, including wheat (both hard and soft), oat groats (dehulled oats), rice, triticale, Kamut, spelt, buckwheat, barley, rye, millet, teff, quinoa, amaranth, sorghum and dent (field) corn. Sprouted grains can also be milled provided they are thoroughly dried first. It will also grind spices, lentils and dry beans (pinto, red, garbanzo, kidney, etc.) It isn’t suitable for herbs, oilseeds like flax or sesame, popcorn, or fibrous materials.

Freshly milled grains are far more nourishing and flavorful than flours which are weeks or even days old. Freshly milled flour from the Komo Classic exits the chute at a temperature only slightly warm to the touch.

Whole grains begin to oxidize and spoil as soon as they’re milled, causing a loss in nutritional value and flavor. At a minimum, it’s important to check the shelf date on store bought whole grains and refrigerate or freeze what you keep on hand.

Ideally, purchase whole grains in bulk and mill at home as needed. Whole grains keep indefinitely and hold their nutritional value. Milling your own grains with a Wolfgang grain mill takes less than a minute and cleanup about the same.

KoMo Fidibus Classic Grain Mill

This is my first grain mill, So don’t have any experience with the others. Bought this one because of the rave reviews from the more experience users out there. It was by far the most highly rated with no down side except for the high price. But I wanted to buy just one and not have to buy another one down the road. Love the looks and the wife doesn’t complain about it sitting out on the counter. So that means a lot that I don’t have to put it away after each use, somewhat justifies some of the costs for the convenience. Does an excellence job of grinding all my grains from very fine to course. Has an contentious use motor that doesn’t get hot, So my son comes over to grind his grain also, that also makes it worth the extra money. Can’t say enough about the company, Fast shipping, You can actually call them up, Very friendly and exceeding helpful, So far have bought all my baking needs from them. Thomas in Ky

What can I say…it’s a great mill and I’d be surprised if someone didn’t like it.

I am SO glad I spent the extra money for my Komo Fidibus classic mill at Breadtopia. It makes wonderfully fine flour, beautiful course-ground oat groats for euro style muesli, and anything in between. I appreciate it’s speed and reasonable sound level, and most of all its beauty sitting on my countertop. Highly, highly recommended.

A great mill! The freshly milled flour make a subtle but distinctive taste and textural difference in baked goods.
Thanks Breadtopia for a quick delivery and Thanksgiving sale price.

I debated and debated about spending the money for my KoMo, but after having it several months now, I’m thrilled with it! My first grinder was the Wonder Mill, which I used for over 20 years – also an AWESome unit. I just got tired of getting it out of the pantry twice a week, sometimes more. Now, the KoMo is on my counter generating comments and working like a dream. It IS slower than my Wonder Mill – but it’s not as loud and I don’t have any mishaps of the lid not being on tightly enough and getting flour showers at inopportune times! I sold my Wonder Mill to a friend who loves it – and I’m sorry I buy it sooner than I did. Breadtopia is wonderful to work with and I received it so quickly. I thought I would have to wait over the weekend, but there it was on my doorstep 24hrs later!

I just purchased the KoMo Classic. This mill is BUILT!! Not a whimpy mill at all and the look of it…well, it’s gorgeous! I am a wood freak and this really hit my button.
Now, the function of it…so far, I have been grinding hard and soft wheat, einkorn, and dent corn. I expect my rye, barley, kamut to grind just as well.
I know it was quite a bit of money but I think it is well worth it!!! I love it and it makes my life just a little easier!! Thanks Breadtopia!!!

Excellent Mill – Very solidly built and does a great job in milling grains from fine to coarse. Although very pricey, if you’re looking for a well-built product that offers a variety of milling grades, you can do no better than this mill. Excellent overall. I’ve been using it for over a year without any issues.

I just received my Komo classic and I absolutely love it! It grinds flour as fine as store bought or however you want it. It grinds so fast it’s amazing and so much quieter than what I had before- the messerschmidt attachment to the kitchen aide mixer which was horrendously loud. It is so beautiful also- quite an addition to my kitchen. This is a very high quality grinder and it is worth every penny! I can see now why other manufacturers are starting to copy it.

We just got this grain grinder from Breadtopia–the best price online. Yea! I love the way it grinds so efficiently. This grain grinder is very well made–very good motor assembly and the wood housing is not only beautiful to look at, there is no plastic exterior that can be easily broken. There is a heavy plastic ring inside that is rubbed when you set the mill at different levels from course to fine flour, yet we don’t move that setting too often.

We have a Country Grain Mill–hand crank–and am I ever glad to see this KoMo Classic! We couldn’t grind enough flour for our needs (of course we had it on the finest setting). The KoMo does not grind as fine a flour as our hand mill, but that doesn’t matter to me…we can get enough flour for a loaf of bread in 5 minutes, not two days.

Thank you, Eric, for your wonderful comparison videos. They were helpful to me in my research on grain mills, which I then followed up on other sites as well. You did the best side by side comparison and have the best price.

Fabulous Product – I have owned this grain mill for nearly a year now and absolutely love it. It’s the only mill I’ve owned but I wouldn’t want to try any other. I love that I don’t have to spend time cleaning after each use. I love that it looks great sitting on my counter or on my baker’s rack. I grinds the grain to perfection. It’s a great buy and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Now that I have found Breadtopia I am getting the most from my grinder. I was stumbling around a bit trying to use it on my own but with Breadtopia I am making truly amazing bread!
