Mockmill 100 Grain MillLegendary mill maker, Wolfgang Mock, has done it again with the Mockmill 200 grain mill, ushering in a new generation of innovative grain mills that raise the bar for performance and value.

Wolfgang’s Mockmill 200 represents the sum of nearly 40 years of experience and innovation and squarely achieves his goal of making fresh, healthy, high quality and great tasting whole grain flour accessible to as many people as possible.

The Mockmill’s uniquely designed grinding stones produce extraordinarily fine flour, well suited for making everything from world class artisan breads to flaky croissants. Enjoy light pancakes, waffles, tarts, pie crusts, brioche, challah, tender flatbreads and more without sacrificing the health benefits packed into nature’s nutrient powerhouse that is the whole grain wheat kernel.

The Mockmill 200 will grind from extremely fine flour to coarse cracked grain and will handle all wheat grains and non oily grains, medium sized beans, corn and non oily spices.

Housing the the Mockmill 200 is an Arboblend® shell also known as liquid wood made from 98% natural plant-based fibers. This eco friendly material takes natural raw materials out of the waste stream and combines them with biopolymers that results in an attractive, durable yet low cost casing. By concentrating the costs of building a quality mill into the components that matter most, the mill stones and motor, Wolfgang has succeeded in keeping the price of the German made Mockmill 200 at an amazingly attractive level.

IMPORTANT: The video below shows quick and easy setup instructions for your new Mockmill. If you don’t follow the procedure in there, you will not get good milling results. And if you do, you will get GREAT milling results.

We’ll keep a running list of the more frequently asked questions about the Mockmill 100 & 200 –

Mockmill FAQ:

Q: What’s the difference between the Mockmill 100 and 200 and other mills, especially the Komo Classic mill?
A: The most significant difference is that both the Mockmill 100 and 200 mill considerably finer flour than the Classic (or any other mill under $750 for that matter). The difference is quite significant. Fine flour can be achieved without having to sift out the nutritious bran. The only other real differences are the obvious ones like housing, styling, price and length of warranty.

Q: How do the Mockmills compare to the Komo Classic in milling speed?
A: The Komo Classic mills a bit more flour per minute than the 200 and so is quite a bit faster than the 100.

Q: Does the 200 heat up the flour more than the 100 while milling?
A: One would think so since the motor is bigger, but the stones on the 200 have a couple of design differences from the stones on the 100. The stones on the 200 are designed to work on a more powerful motor without heating the flour more.

Q: Which size mill should I get?
A: Kind of a hard one to answer. For the one or two loaves a week I typically bake, I find the 100 is perfectly adequate. If you’re milling a lot more than that or just want a faster mill, the 200 is a nice option.

For home use: The Mockmill is intended for home use and milling quantities appropriate for normal family needs. It is not designed for commercial use in which large quantities of grains are to be ground.

All dry grains can be ground, including wheat (both hard and soft), oat groats (dehulled oats), rice, triticale, Kamut, spelt, buckwheat, barley, rye, millet, teff, quinoa, amaranth, sorghum and dent (field) corn. Sprouted grains can also be milled provided they are thoroughly dried first. It will also grind spices, lentils and dry beans (pinto, red, garbanzo, kidney, etc.) It isn’t suitable for herbs, oilseeds like flax or sesame, popcorn, or fibrous materials.

Mockmill 200 Grain Mill

My Mockmill 200 arrived a few days ago in excellent condition. I followed the step up and cleaning procedures.
Today I made 2 loaves of whole wheat bread using freshly milled flour.
I looked at this mill for a couple of years before finally purchasing one.
I am already very sure that the Mockmill 200 is a great addition to my kitchen!
    Thanks Breadtopia!

I’ve had this grain mill for three years now. I use it almost every day; grinding wheat berries for cream of wheat, grinding corn for polenta and grits, and grinding wheat berries for all different kinds of great-tasting breads. It’s a wonderful mill and does a great job. I’ve never had any problems with it and would recommend its purchase to anyone who wants to improve their health by eating better and more grains.

I’ve had the Mockmill 200 for over a half year now (as a gift from my fiancee). It’s been a wonderful addition to the kitchen–it does an amazing job milling all types of grains. I use it for bread and pizza (I’m going to take up pasta making this holiday season) and the flavor from freshly milled flour is a wonderful step up from prepackaged. Easy to use, incredibly solid–it puts a smile on my face every time I crank grain through it!

It’s been life changing with the use of Mockmill.I have completely avoided store bought whole grain or all purpose for my dishes. During my trials with the mockmill, I tested the powdered sugar as well. It didnt seem to run through as it did in online videos. My mockmill got stuck and any attempt from the support videos didnt help. But to my rescue, Galen Saturley from customer service was kind to help me with instructions every step. Not just once, but twice.
I take this opportunity to thank him and the wonderful customer service that Mockmill has. Thanks again!

My Mockmill 200 grinds the finest whole grain flour I have ever seen. set on the finest setting, the flour is as fine as talcum powder. I used to have a Royal Lee grain mill but the Mockmill finds even finer flour than the Royal Lee without themes and lengthy cleanup go the Royal Lee. Also, the Royal Lee left a gluey gluten residue when I used it for fine flour. The Mockmill is easy to clean and does not leave the gluey residue. As A result the Mockmill is the the BEST grain mill I have ever used.
I have already used my Mockmill for three “projects. The first was to grind a 50% mixture of Turkey Red and Red Fife for a Hearth Bread adapted from Peter Reinhart’s book on whole grain baking. The texture of the bread was superior due to the finest grind possible with the Mockmill. The flavor was excellent as well. My second project was to grind a 50% mixture of buckwheat and soft white wheat to make pancakes. The pancakes were quite fluffy, considering the fact that they were made with 100% whole grain. They tasted great as well. My third project was to grind some Kamut on a coarse setting and use the result for hot cereal. Again, I had a great result
Given the way my Mockmill behaved for these three projects, I can safely say that the machine was the best and most versatile mill I have ever used. It has my most enthusiastic recommendation.

I received this mill as a gift from my wife! I’m very pleased with my new Mockmill! It does everything it is supposed to do! I highly recommend the Mockmill and Breadtopia! Both are quality oriented companies with exceptional customer service!

I purchased the Mockmill 200 in March 2018. I had been hesitating since October on whether it was worth it for me to get a Mockmill since I already own the Nutrimill and it is fully operational. Some of the issues I had with Nutrimill was: 1) very loud, so much so that I use to run it in a closet in the basement to cut down on the noise. 2) Nutrimill would make a fine spraying of flour out from the side 3) since the Nutrimill deposited the flour into a bin it was then necessary to transfer to another container and then have to deal with cleaning of the bin.
All those issues are NON EXISTENT with the Mock Mill. The Mock Mill just sits on my counter now ready at a moments notice. It blends seamlessly with the decor of my kitchen. The grinding sound is not offensive at all and does not require me to have it buried in a basement closet when operating it. I just mill enough flour now for the recipe I am using. I weight out the grain and dump it in and place the bowl under the spout and I am good to go. There is not flour everywhere and speaking of the flour, it is ground to perfection!!!!!! I would highly recommend this Mockmill 200 and Breadtopia in general. The service was quick and they did help to answer any questions I had.

Just received Mockmill 200 from Breadtopia, what a pleasure it is to deal with such a strait forward and honest company… Got to say this Mockmill is the stuff, don’t see how one could purchase a higher end model costing two to three times more that can do a better job… fit and finish is nice ( I’m a machinist by trade) quite fast, the finished product, we’ll it doesn’t get any better than the Mockmill

Having only used the Mockmill 200 for one month, my early impressions are highly favorable. As I use it more for different baked goods, I’m sure I’ll discover other benefits. The mill grinds into a very fine powder with an enticing aroma only freshly milled grains can give. I’ve also made some muesli using a much coarser grind and this came out great too.

I am very happy with the purchase of Mockmill 200 from Breadtopia. Since I purchase it, I have been making bread twice a week and we love the results. The mill is fast, not very loud, looks good on the counter, the price is right, and the fine flour makes outstanding bread. Dealing with Breadtopia is a pleasure; they are responsive, honest, professional, and carry quality products. I highly recommend both, Mockmill 200 and Breadtopia as a whole!

Like everyone else I received my mill late September. No problem setting it up. Afterwards I got the email about the tutorial and learned one more technique of adjusting the stones for courser >10 or finer <1 grind that was not described in the instructions. I don't have anything to compare it to as I have never milled my own flour. And I'm new to the whole concept of whole grain flour…not whole wheat. BUT IT IS AWESOME. I've milled corn grits, corn meal, creamy wheat and lots of flour. I've baked bread, asian style buns, focaccia, cookies, biscuits, cupcakes and chocolate cake with very little, if any, adjustments to the ratios, sometimes using 100% whole grain and other times 50%-60% with delicious results. I love not having to run to the store to buy flour anymore. It stays on the counter. Looks great. I usually mill more and store in a container that gets used up within a week. Can't wait to experiment more!

I received my highly anticipated Mockmill 200 yesterday Sept 26 2017. What a beautiful piece of machinery! It comes double packaged and able to withstand the rigors of cross country shipping. Within the mill are two locking devices to keep the innards from shaking and possible doing damage to the machine in shipment. Included in the box is a one page description on how to unpack and adjust fineness of grind. However I would very much suggest Eric’s superior video on how to set up everything and the mechanics of adjusting fineness. (In assembling the grain mill for the first time, I couldn’t get the cover pushed all the way down in order for the cover to click into place. I quickly realized that I had not tightened down the grinding stone far enough, so I turned it one more complete turn and set it at the 5 o’clock position. All perfect now!)

Couldn’t wait to make my first loaf of Spelt bread. I followed the video recipe for “Sourdough Spelt Bread. “ Ground a very fine flour. Baked the next day. Perfection! The mill is not overpowering loud, not nearly as loud as my Vitamix . The whole grinding process was quite speedy. I felt a little warmth in the flour, but nothing to worry about. I probably could have ordered the Mockmill 100 for my small needs of 2 loaves of bread a week. (It took about 2 min to grind the 530 grams of spelt for the recipe.)

This is a great device for anyone who likes making your own bread. Whatever recipe you choose from the Breadtopia site it will yield better tasting, healthier, fresher bread than you can buy at the store. Support Breadtopia with your purchase, they are the bread kings!

Love this mill! Just unboxed it tonight so these are only initial impressions. I have previously milled using the dry container on my Vitamix and my Nutrimill Classic. Tonight I ran 600 grams of soft white wheat through at the fine setting, and it took 2 min 36 seconds. Speed is good! Temp of the flour came out to be 104.7. I did run rice through prior to this so the stones perhaps had some residual heat from that, so not sure if that impacted the final temp. The fineness of the flour is far and away better than my Nutrimill Classic! Powdery is the best way to describe it- just super fine. I did watch the video on this site for setting it up the first time (removing inner plastic used for shipping, how to set it to the finest setting or the coarsest). The video was super helpful so if you buy one be sure to watch that. Small footprint so it can stay on my counter full-time. Love that I can now easily mill just a little flour for pancakes. My big Nutrimill worked well, but I had to store it, drag it out, use it, brush of residual flour, then put it away. Not the Mockmill- no cleaning after, stays on the counter so super convenient. Feels super sturdy and that it will hold up for a long long time. I cannot recommend this mill enough! I think for most folks buying the cheaper 100 model would also be just fine. I bake 4-6 loaves at a time so was looking for a faster mill rate than the 100, but the speedtests reported on the 100 are coming in well. If you are only doing enough for 1 or 2 loaves at a time the 100 for sure would work. It is worth the bigger motor to me and the faster mill rate for the extra cost on the 200. The Mockmill is going to obliterate the Nutrimill due to the entry level model being similar in cost, yet a far superior product. There is just no comparison between those 2 models. You can’t go wrong with the Mockmill 100 or 200!!
