Mockmill Professional 200 Grain Mill

Just starting to use this. Great so far. It’s quieter than I expected after reading reviews elsewhere. It’s around the sound of a coffee grinder when you are running grain through it and much quieter than that when you first turn it on or have it run after a milling to ensure all is done. It’s a solid piece of gear and fits on a counter far better than the manual crank monsters that I also looked at (since I also homebrew). Only thing I’ll look to tweak is to figure out a plug for the output hole just to discourage any ants or whatever from going in there come spring. There is naturally some dust but it seemed minimal which may or may not be due to avoiding a plastic bowl (thus reducing static maybe?). Breadtopia delivered right around when they predicted so the out of stock estimates are on the money. I had looked at KoMo and others. Since the Mo in KoMo stands for Mock and that major contributor to KoMo started their own company I went with this Mock. Do I need this bigger Pro version? Likely not but it’s sweet. Do I worry about it heating up the grain? Nah because if that ever becomes an issue then I can just measure out my grains ahead of time and throw it in the Fridge the night before to drop the temp 30+ degrees F. Heck I might pre-weigh my favorite mixes of grains any way and have a couple in my fridge in a mason jar all set to go whenever.

I’m in love with this mill!! Beautiful, easy to operate, easy to clean and take care of. It produces the most sensible and enjoyable result(for me!) – fresh, warm(almost hot!), ground flour!! It’s almost like a meditation when I touch the fresh flour that this beautiful piece of machinery made. Highly recommend. 10 stars!!

This is a beauty. I wasn’t sure if the less expensive 200 or the 200 Pro was best for me, but I ended up going all in for the Pro because of its longer warranty, ability to do longer continuous run times, and ease of use. I’ve used it a few times so far with a variety of wheat berries and oats. While it is super easy to set up and use, there will be a learning curve to figuring out when and how I can sub home-milled flours for refined flours in recipes.

This mill is heavy – too heavy in my opinion to store it in a cabinet and take it out just when you need to use it – so it’s best to make a permanent space for it on your counter. It’s also on the loud side, so if you have sensitive ears like me, some ear protection may come in handy.

I’m really happy with my new mill, and I’m thankful for all of the great recipes and tips for using it on Breadtopia’s website.

Simply beautiful! If aesthetics are important to you, please know that while the photos on the site show an attractive unit, the reality is even better. The casing and hopper are a lovely, warm shade of medium brown fine-grained wood, pictured below. Truly a work of art! As I just received my mill, I followed the directions to clean the stones with a handful of rice. Then, I milled rye on setting one and got a super-fine flour. Especially powerful, fast and easy to use. Lots of delicious baking ahead. So very, very happy with my Mockmill! Thank you, Wolfgang and Breadtopia.
