Mylar Grain Storage Bags

These 5.25 mil thick Mylar pouches come in two sizes, both of which have a ziplock 2″ from the bag opening. For recommended use with our Oxyfree Oxygen Absorbers: one sachet will keep contents of either bag fresh for up to 25 years when sealed correctly. Use a hot jaw, hair straightener or iron to heat seal at least 1″ past the ziplock to ensure an airtight seal for long-term grain storage. For further protection against pests and vermin, place the sealed Mylar bag in our favorite 5 gallon bucket.
- Medium (10 x 16″) holds up to 6 lb of grain (sold as a pack of 5).
- Large (20 x 30″) holds up to 50lb of grain (sold individually).
- The Life Latch 5 gal bucket will hold 35 lb of grain in the Large (20 x 30″) size.
- Both bag sizes require one 1000cc oxygen absorber sachet for long-term grain storage.
NOTE: When sealing Mylar bags, make sure you remove as much of the ‘headspace’ as you can; this is the area at the top of the bag you seal. Even a little headspace can use up much of the power of the oxygen absorber.
