Eric’s Easy Bake Series – Episode 3
Great Sandwich Bread
Sometimes a crusty artisan loaf with big holes doesn’t quite cut it. For sandwiches, a bread that’s light and tender, easy to chew, flavorful but not overpowering, kid friendly yet wholesome is often the way to go. This bread is it.
As with the previous Easy Bake episodes, there’s not a lot of precise measuring going on here. Sure, my results will vary a bit from loaf to loaf but the end results will always fit the above description. Variability is a luxury the home baker can afford, whereas professional bakers need consistency to meet customer expectations. If you’re more comfortable with exact measurements and predictable results, feel free to take notes on how much of which ingredients you use when “winging it”. Then when you feel you’ve hit on your ideal loaf, you’ll know how to duplicate it next time.
Next up: In Episode 4 we’ll will turn this dough into some awesome hamburger and hotdog buns and soft pull apart dinner rolls.
